Every family deserves a real vacation, not a trip. You know the difference. A trip is the same juggling act somewhere more expensive. A vacation is the one where the kids are genuinely happy and you get two hours that belong to you.

We built the family hotel database we always wished existed. Every property is personally reviewed and searchable by the things that actually decide a family trip: how many the room really sleeps, what age childcare starts, whether dinner works around a 6:30 bedtime, and whether your kids will be welcomed rather than just allowed. No endless scrolling through generic booking sites. No guessing. Just hotels we have tested, and the honest detail to book one with confidence.

Hi, I'm Alex. Like you, I want to give my kids amazing experiences without spending the whole vacation as the family logistics manager.

Ultimate Family Hotels started with my own frustration as a new mom living abroad. When I first discovered European family hotels, with their kids' clubs, supervised meals, animal farms, and pools for days, I could not believe it. Growing up in the US, I had never seen anything like it. There is a whole mature category here that most English-speaking parents do not know exists.

Then I tried to book our first trip and hit a wall. There was no single place to compare hotels by what actually mattered: childcare, age-appropriate activities, whether the room really slept all of us, whether the parents got a look-in too. I was drowning in generic booking sites and reviews from 2016.

So I did what any slightly obsessive, PR-brained parent would do. I built a database in Notion and tracked everything. Kids' club hours, pool features, dining options, babysitting, even whether the high chairs wobbled. My mom friends went a little wild for it. They added their own finds, sent feedback, and it quietly became a community of parents helping parents travel better.

That is when it stopped being my spreadsheet. I am not a travel influencer. I am building a business: a curated, tested database of family hotels, by parents, for parents. Every hotel is personally reviewed against strict criteria, no one can pay their way in, and the whole thing is designed to save you the ten hours of tab-juggling and the risk of getting a €6,000 trip wrong.

Having kids did not end my life as a traveler. It just changed who I pack for. That belief runs through everything on this site.
