Private island exclusivity: Niva Labriz is the only resort on Silhouette, so its beaches, rainforest trails, and marine reserve are effectively yours
Tortoise sanctuary: children can meet and hand-feed the resort's young Aldabra giant tortoises at daily feeding sessions
Own dive island: the 5-star PADI Labriz Dive Centre is the island's only dive base, with pool sessions for kids from age eight
Niva Labriz Seychelles is the only resort on Silhouette Island, a granite-and-rainforest wilderness where more than 90 percent of the land is protected national park and the surrounding sea is a marine reserve. Reached by a 40-minute boat transfer or a 15-minute helicopter flight from Mahe, this family-friendly Seychelles resort spreads just 115 villas lightly across the shoreline and jungle, so even at capacity the island feels unhurried and private. Once the Hilton Seychelles Labriz, the property reopened in 2026 under the Niva Hotels & Resorts brand as a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, following a full renovation. Families can choose from nine villa categories, including two-bedroom garden and beach villas designed for extended families, and most come with private pools or plunge pools, open-sky rain showers, and deep soaking tubs. The largest, the Two Bedroom Labriz Retreat, adds private beach access and butler service.
Parents get genuine time to themselves here without their children ever being bored. The kids club runs daily from 9am to 6pm with complimentary access for ages four and up, filling the day with island-inspired arts and crafts, pizza-making, movie downtime, and supervised visits to feed the resort's young Aldabra giant tortoises. Older children can join guided snorkeling trips over protected coral gardens, cycle the flat paths between the jetty and La Passe village, or rally on the floodlit tennis and padel courts after dark, while a Creole cooking class in the 19th-century Grann Kaz plantation house turns lunch into a hands-on history lesson. Dining spans eight restaurants and bars, from the buffet-style Brasserie Dauban with its nightly themed menus to a beachside grill, a lakeside teppanyaki table, and a poolside spot for wood-fired pizza, and the kitchens happily adapt dishes for younger or fussier eaters. With free island-wide wifi, evening turndown, blackout curtains, and a hillside spa reserved for the grown-ups, this barefoot beach resort is built for the kind of trip where everyone, parents included, actually gets to switch off.
