Rooftop Sky Adventure Park (unique in Europe): 4,500 sqm of converted roof holding a Bobby Car race track, Valo Jump trampolines, a football pitch and an ice rink, so the action happens without ever leaving the building
Year-round rooftop ski slope: a synthetic surface that needs no water for snowmaking, letting kids take their first turns in the middle of July
120m indoor slide with race timer: the longest in South Tyrol, and the timer turns the water world into a competition kids repeat for hours
Falky Ski School train pickup: children from age four are collected at the hotel, taken to Kronplatz by train with a supervisor and walked back to childcare if parents are still skiing
Falkensteiner Family Resort Lido sits in the Val Pusteria valley at Casteldarne, a fifteen-minute drive from the Kronplatz ski area and at the gateway to the Dolomites. The geography of the resort is the point. A natural swimming lake with a sandy beach and a pirate raft lies at the foot of the building, while the roof carries a 4,500 square meter Sky Adventure Park holding a year-round ski slope with its own lift, a Bobby Car race track, a Valo Jump trampoline zone, a football pitch and a winter ice rink. Inside, the 2,800 square meter water world holds South Tyrol's longest indoor slide at 120 meters with a race timer, an indoor pool that runs out to an outdoor infinity pool, and three children's pools including a baby pool held at around 32 degrees. Accommodation was designed for families rather than adapted for them: suites start at the 35 square meter Premium Suite Falkynest with separate children's bunks and run up to the 60 square meter Exclusive Grand Suite, which sleeps two adults and up to four children in a single bookable unit, making this a rare mountain property in Italy that genuinely works for a family of six.
Childcare starts at six months, early even by South Tyrolean standards. Baby Land, the resort's baby club, takes the under-threes Monday to Saturday from 09.00 to 18.00, while Falky Land runs seven days a week from 09.00 to 21.00 for three to six year olds, the Falkons program covers seven to eleven, and the Teen Zone takes over from eleven with air hockey, karaoke and a creative lab. The kids club works on a drop-in basis rather than fixed sessions, so children come and go instead of being booked into a slot. Falky Restaurant is built at children's eye height and serves supervised lunch and dinner with the Falky Land carers, which frees parents to eat properly at 12 Hoefe, or at DODICI, the fifteen-table fine dining room reserved for Exclusive Suite guests. The Full Board Plus rate covers breakfast, a light lunch, the Bake and Cake afternoon spread and dinner with live cooking. Babies get a lobby milk kitchen with sterilizer, bottle warmer and HIPP food, plus an a-la-carte baby menu ordered the day before, and rooms come stocked with a cot, baby bath, changing mat, diaper bin, stroller and hiking carrier. In winter, the Falky Ski School collects children from age four at the hotel, takes them to Kronplatz by train with a supervisor and walks them back to childcare if the parents are still on the slopes.
