Perched on the shore of Lake Reschen in South Tyrol's Vinschgau valley, DAS GERSTL Family Retreat opened in May 2025 as the first family hotel to sit directly on this legendary glacial lake. The 65 suites, chalets, and studios are built from local solid wood by regional craftsmen, with panoramic lake views from private terraces, separate children's sleeping areas, and bathrooms finished to a level that makes unpacking feel genuinely worthwhile. Gersti's Kids World runs up to 50 hours of supervised activity and programming per week, from an indoor climbing wall and crawling course to outdoor nature exploration and excursions, guided by a dedicated team under the hotel's mascot GERSTI. The Venosta Spa and Adults Only area mean you can book a regional r30 massage while your children are genuinely occupied rather than merely tolerated nearby. Dining runs on the hotel's r30 philosophy, sourcing ingredients from within 30 kilometers, including Wagyu beef from the family's own farm.
